Thanks for the laughs

By Letter to the Editor on May 30, 2020.

I want to thank the good citizens of Lethbridge for the best laugh I’ve ever had in a long time – that is the “Roast and Toast” page.

While the rest of the world is worrying about real crisis, you all are complaining about people who do or do not watch Fox News!

I was laughing so hard, I almost fell off the couch. While I realize that being informed is important, I question the importance of some of the issues brought out on the Roast and Toast page in today’s (May 11) paper.

Also, as a longtime health-care worker in long-term care facilities, I can tell you that we were “always” understaffed and underpaid.

It is not uncommon to work a double shift in such a facility, something I have experienced myself not that long ago.

Also, many of the residents had no visitors, so we were their “family.”

Most of the people I worked with were caring and committed to the well-being of the residents.

Also, a thank you to the Sally Ann for being on the front lines, a place where they have been for a very long time!

Yes, it is extremely sad to see the demise of any business, whether it has been in existence for a hundred years or for one year.

Thank you for a good laugh, Roast and Toast page!
