Miss Harder has a fixation. It is reminiscent of teenagers who insist on rights and freedoms without accepting responsibilities.
As our member of Parliament, we should expect a modicum of self-awareness, of maturity.
What we have been shown is belligerence, lack of cooperation, deliberate obstruction for the work of legislation.
Conservatives claim to want to “hold the government to account.”
They take this to mean, endeavour to embarrass the government in any cheap, childish and insignificant manner possible – criticizing the PM’s choice of costume and party make-up as though the state of the nation rested on these little issues.
Meanwhile, the PC chose to ignore serious mental health and addiction problems, the lack of housing and food for hundreds of thousands of children, the deteriorating environmental and survival issues of the day.
May I suggest PC and Ms. Harder’s values are misplaced?
Oh, she is very photogenic, as we are reminded monthly by her newsletters.
Almost any organization that wishes to make a social splash can call on her presence.
We never hear a serious suggestion to the problems of pollution or climate change, due I suspect to the PC unwavering support for the economy and international corporate shareholder’s profits.
These issues are untouchables. People, real working people problems on the other hand, are unrecognizable to PC.
Homelessness, lack of good water and health services, education for isolated native communities, child care, or food banks never appear on their conference agenda.
Corporate lobby lawyers constantly push to lower workers’ wages and prevent new ways to limit worker’s ability to form unions take precedent.
Lobby for oil and gas corporate unions like Explorers and Producers Associations of Canada (EPAC) are all present, always crying for more subsidy for business out of the worker’s taxes.
These international corporate bloodsuckers get the attention, and they get the subsidies, because Conservatives work for the rich, the people who can’t afford to pay taxes.

Great comments Don. The fact is they aren’t Conservatives they are Reformers and they don’t give a damn about anyone other than themselves and their rich friends. It was former MLAs from the Lougheed era who taught me that.
Reformer Danielle Smith was fire as a Trustee for the Calgary Board of Education by the Conservative Party and has lost three Conservative elections , yet she is still trying to promote her idiotic Reform Party Policies. Privatization of Health Care and Education is all they care about.
In other words while we help our rich friends screw the people out of their oil and tax wealth lets make these fools pay a lot more for education and health care. Lets get rid of the doctors, nurses, and teachers and force Albertans into accepting a privatized system. That’s the game plan
After cutting $9.4 billion off our corporate taxes to help their rich friends they are cutting 3% off our nurses wages and we are expected to be dumb enough to accept it, and Shandro claims he had nothing to do with driving out rural doctors . Where is the intelligence in that.
Want to bet if there were a Federal Election tomorrow Albertans would help elect Reformer Erin O’Toole and give these Reform Party premiers the power to eliminate our Public Health Care system. That’s how dumb Albertans are.
As my conservatives friends and I will tell you we don’t like Trudeau but trust him a lot more than these damn Reformers. Jason Kenney has certainly proven that.
while you are correct enough in your reference to cons, you omit the same concerns apply to libs. perhaps that is your next letter?
as in 420 mil to algoma, without any equity for that money for canadians. ditto sundry fortunes given away to big corp/big pharm just during the covid period. our history is rife with redirecting public money into private hands – regardless of what bs name in power is doing the bidding of the greedy and self serving big corp.
see biff, enter a neg. curious, why do you support giving away public money to big corp and ceos? let me guess: –
The conservatives in our group aren’t fans of Trudeau but know if we didn’t have him the Cons (Reformers) would have financially destroyed the country, just like they did Alberta.
Trudeau is definitely saving our ass by handing out money our young people would never seen under the cons. There is nothing intelligent about slashing billions off our corporate taxes for your rich friends and putting health care workers and teachers out of jobs and creating a nightmare with strikes for everyone, like Kenney is creating.
As my friends will tell you he is definitely follow what Ralph Klein did to us. Five lost their jobs thanks to Klein. .
As the retired oilmen in our senior group state if these Reformers hadn’t given away some $700 billion of Alberta’s money we would have been able to handle all the money being given away because of this pandemic and still had lots to spare. Good point isn’t it?
In addition they point out that he did more to try to help our oil industry than Harper ever did. In fact Harper refused to cooperate with our oil executives when they wanted the Carbon Tax created. Telling the world that you don’t give a damn about air pollution, or global warming, when the world does care is just plain stupid.
Why don’t you come to Edmonton and tell the business owners that they shouldn’t have accepted the handouts from Trudeau that has saved their hides. The ones I have talked would call you a damn fool they are thankful for his help and know it wouldn’t have come from these reformers or haven’t you noticed they are trying to pull another Ralph Klein while they slash taxes for their rich friends they intend to cut teaching and health care jobs.
1) businesses never should have been forced shut. 2) given point 1, then indeed, people and business owners put out of work needed money…i have no issue with that.
however, giving away massive amounts of public money to wealthy private entities – without gaining a fair market equity in return – is as good as theft. that is my issue, not at all what you have shared. we see this time and again, where public money is redirected to big corps and the wealthiest individuals under all types of “justifications.” what i am saying is when the public purse is used to grease a corporation, the people must gain a fair market stake in that enterprise.
Conservatives work for the rich
NDP work for their unions
Liberals work for themselves
Liberals are the most successful because they are chameleons, they will steal other parties platforms if it “works for them”. Everything that is done daily is to enrich the Liberal Party and their base.
The reason you can quickly identify failure in Conservatives is they are NOT conservatives any longer (I agree with Fedup Conservative in this regard)
When you are a Conservative you are working at a disadvantage in the East. Why? Because the Liberals have already locked up the people that will take bribes, or have money to spread around ensuring the “French Canadian Province remains top of the Liberal List”.
So you have Liberals who will cater to anyone that will support them financially, and if need steal other party platforms to increase the base.
You then have Conservatives who really do not agree with each other and are more concerned with infighting then forming a party. Two many Chiefs and not enough Indians as they would say.
The NDP, who know exactly who they are. They are socialist that promote Unions, if you can create bigger government (Unions) Build more schools (Teachers Unions) Build more Building (Construction Unions) then you will be forever in power. The Problem is, to achieve this the NDP spends until they run out of your money.
Conservatives normally come in and clean up the mess from Liberal NDP spending but that roll was eventually erased by Liberals attempting balanced budgets during the 90s.
So Conservatives in General do not have a niche any longer. So they infight trying to determine who a Conservative is and who is more Religious then the next guy. They have no time to run a National Party or for that matter a Provincial One.
The amusing part, a “kid” is putting it to them so badly that even with his minority government the Cons cannot muster enough ideas or maturity to be a threat! So you revert to what you know, grease the rich in the hopes that if you do not get a Political Pension at least someone you greased owes you a favor!

That sums it up rather accurately. Curious, who do you think Libertarians/Anarchists work for?
dennis, i feel your summation on the parties misses one reality – they each are corrupt, and each ultimately has its strings pulled by big corp and the wealthiest individuals. this also applies to the ndp – hardly a real socialist party these days, just as cons are hardly cons anymore, and just as libs are hardly libs anymore. the ndp, when in power, suffer especially as big money conspires to undermine them; and big money can do so because big money is king.
So the NDP were building the 55 schools we were short of, thanks to the Reformers, put caps on our power bills so the industry couldn’t gouge us. Put caps on our school fees and day care fees so they couldn’t gouge our young adults. Convinced the Doctors, Nurses, and Teachers to forgo any wage hikes until the oil industry recovered and the government had more money to help them.
Kenney destroyed all what she did, even scraped the Super Lab, that doctors know could have helped us produce vaccines if needed down the road and the hospital in Edmonton that is badly needed yet somehow the NDP come out of this looking like the bad guys.
Apparently you guys never talked to any of the former MLAs from the Lougheed era who stated that Notley was a lot more like Lougheed and she was certainly on the right track to get us out of this financial mess.
Maybe you boys should wake up. With your lame attitudes we will never get out of this financial mess and we owe to our children to do so. After all we allowed it to happen, didn’t we?
With our blind support of these phony conservatives. It certainly hasn’t happened in Alaska or Norway. When I was there the people couldn’t have been happier about what their governments had done for them.
the ndp had some approaches that were refreshing and on the mark. one example of corruption, of utter stupidity that reeked of pocket lining, was the light bulbs bs. i was also disappointed that they did not do something really socialist and progressive, and of great benefit and need to the people of alberta: take back complete control of our energy grid, rather than have us continue to be robbed by the likes of enmax, atco, et al. they should also have gone after oil cos for clean up and orphan wells; they should also have done what norway has done, which is to ensure a majority stake in every mining (oil/gas) venture in the province.
And in the end, it’s not ‘who’ is right but ‘what’ is right’
You certainly understand it. Even members of Ralph Klein’s own family knew that what he was doing was wrong and tried to help us vote him out. Our family had known the Klein family since the early 1960s and we knew what a jerk he was.
i now you have more important things to do than to impress me, but, h2o, i am truly impressed by your last several entries which convey positive thought and respect. for a laugh, you can go ahead and dis this entry 🙂
