Re: Celebrating 60 Years of Ministry
Several years ago, we visited Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Canmore and heard fond memories the older members had of Pastor Phil Jorgenson. Those of us who have the privilege of knowing Pastor Phil see the growth of churches under his care as a by-product of his faithful service to his Lord Christ, using his gifts of kindness, listening, scholarship, wisdom, and consideration for others. Thank you for sharing his story.

More letters that come from a religious worldview seem to be appearing in this newspaper, creating the assumption that everyone is a member of their particular club of believers. Non-believers on the other hand, are allowed in the comments section only?
Is this the newsletter of a church, or the Lethbridge public?
My four friends who became ministers and two were Lutheran tell me a different story. As their senior congregations died off it becomes harder and harder for the churches to survive. The young people aren’t wanting to be tricked into believing in a myth. I stopped going to church when I was 14.
An elderly Jewish woman said it best years ago. “ while these Rabi keep feeding people the lie that Jesus is coming to save us they ignore the fact that he didn’t come during the Second World War when we needed him the most did he. “
