Poilievre platform based on notion that many Canadians are gullible

By Lethbridge Herald on May 19, 2022.

ditor:

After listening to Mr. Poilievre during the debate and reading more about his platform it appears that he is trying to take a page from the U.S. Republican party’s game plan and sow dissent where there is none, or cause disaffection solely for political gain. This strategy is more about whipping up a base, similar to herding cattle, and assumes you can implant a divisive mind set among a sympathetic portion of the electorate who really can’t grasp or don’t care enough about real problems or solutions.  It smacks of condescension and is based on the notion that many of the Canadian electorate are as gullible and malleable as their southern counterparts. I think however that he has drastically underestimated the intelligence of Canadians, which will be his undoing. This election is not about artificially creating a fire storm so one can appear to be a savior. It is about real and serious issues that need dedicated well thought out strategies and less about fabricating boogie men.

You have it precisely backwards. Fabricating boogie men is a good one. How about Mr. Bouncy Castle himself. Unglue yourself from the CBC.

You were warned that a steady diet of Faux News and only Faux News would rot your brain. The prospect of living the rest of your life with an IQ below 40 is not pleasant but, as mentioned already, you brought it on yourself. We understand how your kind finds Tucker Carlson’s glossy moving lips and lifeless eyes stimulating but you should have turned the sound off.

You keep on taking Liberal amounts of CNN and CBC and YOUR brain-rot will become terminal!

Fedup Conservative

That’s exactly what he is trying to do and the MLAs from the Lougheed era I got to know were right. You Can’t Trust A Reformer. While spreading lies and destroying careers like they do they help their rich friends steal the peoples wealth and force them into a lot more privatization, just like Harper tried to do when the people kicked him out. In his 2012 budget he promised to cut $36 billion off the provinces health care funding to force us into an American Style Private for Profit health Care system.
You can bet when Poilievre was in Edmonton him and his pal Jason Kenney cooked up some scheme to get Kenney back in federal politics if Poilievre is elected. Too bad senior buckwheat isn’t smart enough to understand it. Talk about being gullible.
The young members of my family have no problem figuring these Reformers out and aren’t dumb enough to support them.

As stated already Peter! Please unplug yourself from the tax-payer funded abyss known as the CBC! The divisive mind-set you talk about was implanted years ago by your authoritarian government in Ottawa.

Of course Johnny doesn’t give a damn about young Canadians losing their jobs it doesn’t effect him. It is no concern of his that Poilievre is setting these fools up to privatize our public health care system. In other words if the cbc is too expensive you can imagine what he’s got planned for privatizing our health care system, and that involves Johnny, and all the rest of us. It’s no secret Reformers have been promising to privatize is along with education system for years.
It would never occur to Johnny that it was a conservative prime minister who created the cbc to create jobs and for all Canadians to enjoy. It was in fact that only tv station we had for many years and it’s still the only connection some remote areas of Canada have still today. So where is the intelligence in getting rid of it?

The conservative prime minister was Richard C. Bennett who just happened to be a lawyer and business partner , in Calgary , of James Lougheed. Our hero Peter Lougheed’s grandfather. I bet Peter would have something to say about Poilievre trying to destroy it. A lot of my conservative friends certainly have they are avid fans of the cbc, it’s all they listen to.

So while the gullible seniors continue to prove how foolish they are and hurl their sarcastic comments at anyone who isn’t as dumb as them the intelligent Albertans have kicked their hero out and have made it clear they want Notley back. It’s no secret that she was on the right path to get us out of this financial mess. Unlike these Liberal, Kenney lovers who don’t care how he was treating our doctors, nurses, teachers and students we do care. There is certainly nothing conservative about him or he would have been collecting proper royalties, and taxes like Lougheed did and Norway and Alaska are doing. Instead these reformers have made it so our mayors can’t afford to repair our roads properly and provide us with proper snow removal, where is the intelligence in that?

And, his verbal dribble comments on bitcoin and the Governor of the Bank of Canada are iffy as well.
Conservatives, both federal and provincial, remain toxically split on verging on/actually being libertarian, or, traditional progressive conservatives. The unification of these two groups within these parties remains remote.
