Appointment of Rachael Thomas to heritage critic a disappointment

It was with dismay I read the recent news that Rachael Thomas, Member of Parliament for Lethbridge, was appointed the new Conservative critic for Canadian Heritage.

How can one critique Canadian heritage and culture when they themselves (are) so outside of our country’s culture?

Ms. Thomas is anti-abortion, voted against banning the dangerous practice of conversion “therapy”, made insensitive remarks about pandemic deaths, and has lied blatantly about the COVID-19 vaccine. 

None of that is mainstream nor reflective of Canadian values. Science, truth, and evidence-based decision making are what we want in leaders, not lies and antics designed to appeal to the fringe. I’m just thankful her new portfolio is relatively minor and Lethbridge can be spared even more embarrassment on the national stage.
