Appointment of Rachael Thomas to heritage critic a disappointment

It was with dismay I read the recent news that Rachael Thomas, Member of Parliament for Lethbridge, was appointed the new Conservative critic for Canadian Heritage.
How can one critique Canadian heritage and culture when they themselves (are) so outside of our country’s culture?
Ms. Thomas is anti-abortion, voted against banning the dangerous practice of conversion “therapy”, made insensitive remarks about pandemic deaths, and has lied blatantly about the COVID-19 vaccine.
None of that is mainstream nor reflective of Canadian values. Science, truth, and evidence-based decision making are what we want in leaders, not lies and antics designed to appeal to the fringe. I’m just thankful her new portfolio is relatively minor and Lethbridge can be spared even more embarrassment on the national stage.

Nice, I believe the “fringe” is much larger than what your “progressive” mind is allowing to absorb. So you are for abortion, for conversion therapy (is that with or without parental consent). Insensitive remarks about pandemic deaths (name them), blatantly lied about the vaccine (provide the links to the lies). The latter two will go to clarifying and substantiating your remarks. Thanks. So it is disappointing.

It’s not that I support abortion, it’s that I support a woman’s choice of what control she has over her body. On conversion therapy if a consenting adult wants to go through conversion therapy i have no issue with that, minors on the other hand should not be forced into it.
To be more generous, I’m sure the government appreciates the cooking tips for Angus beef – a notable contribution to peace, order and good government.

OMG – I just read our MP’s statement in the House. News for Ms Thomas; feedlot beef is “tender, juicy and packed with flavour” because of the way feedlot beef is finished. The feed mix adds weight quickly and produces a highly-marbled carcass. That marbling is fat, and as any animal scientist, chef or nutritionist will tell you, fat is flavour. In fact, I know a couple of feedlot operators who every year finish a couple of critters mainly on grass for their own use. In other words, they don’t consume their own product.
hmmm.. well how do you explain the successive landslide victories of our MP Rachael Thomas/Harder, seems like the vast majority of constituents would not agree with your biased comments William. MP Thomas has again and again displayed her moral integrity, honesty and positive position as she represents her constituents, and for that she continues to have my unequivocal support now and in future polls. Sorry that MP Thomas is not who/what you are looking for, please find another tree to bark at.
Thats right, William. Harold approves of her social conservatism, so your voice is unwelcome. Freedom doesn’t cotton to the opinions and speech of dissenters.

This vitally important, multifaceted, large portfolio currently requires, extensive and diligent scrutiny; to ensure it operates in an honest, ethical manner and those responsible perform their duties within a forthright and fiduciary manner.
Currently the Federal Government’s Ministry of Heritage; involves three deeply disturbing, contentious and disgusting issues and /or scandals as follows
1) The deeply contentious Bill C-11 which may significantly impact/remove our freedom of speech as it currently exists and other issues of equal importance.
2) The disgusting and scandalous government funding for a racist (Laith Marouf). Ironically and hypocritically (surprise) as part of their “anti-hate program” Sounds like a policy/ slogan/program (War is Peace) right out of the George Orwell book; “1984.” Mr. Marough is an Anti-Semite which they knew about for a month and did nothing.
3) The equally disgusting and disturbing “Hockey Canada” scandal/ fiasco.
