It didn’t take long. The Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre has asked the city for $ 6.75 million or a grant of $ 2 million.
When this project was first announced, our mayor stated that the new centre would never cost the taxpayers a single cent.
What happened Mayor Hyggen?
Anyone with half a brain could tell this project was not going to come in on budget nor could pay for itself after completion. We are not Calgary and dreams of attracting large events were not reasonable.
Just like a relative that is always in need of cash, the agri-food centre will be costing taxpayers for years to come.
It is here now and you can’t walk away.
