Donald Trump, US President-elect, is a narcissistic person that insists that he will take any country that he pleases including Greenland. Olaf Scholz from Germany warned him to stop picking on Denmark to purchase this country since they are part of NATO. Other countries like France and even Putin warned Trump to stay clear of Greenland.
Realistically, Trump will have a battle with King Charles III of England since Canada is part of the UK and our Prime Minister is under the incumbent Governor General, Mary Simon, the representative to his Majesty King Charles. When the war of 1812 took place between Britain and the Colonies in the U.S. most of the loyalists left for Ontario who now reside in Canada. I believe British troops will protect our borders for their own interests.
The trade war on Canadian Tariffs sold to the U.S.A. can escalate. If Trump is serious in imposing the tax, it will be devastating to the U.S.A. especially when Canada imposes a higher tax than 25 percent that will hurt the U.S. farmers, automobile manufacturers, and soft lumber contractors. When Trump adds the Tariffs to Canada, our Free Trade Agreement will be worthless.

It is time for Canadians to insist that our provincial leaders publicly give an oath of loyalty to Canada.
Of course you are speaking of François Legault of Quebec, good luck with that!
Ontario’s Captain Canada speaks the rough and tough attacks and displays all the colors of a Super Hero! He waves the Canadian Flag now that the first real threat to Ontario appears on the horizon! He is doing all the right things and waddling about looking perturbed at exactly the right times. How dare Trump attack Ontario!
“We Canada)” must defend against this onslaught!! EVERYTHING must be on the TABLE and we all MUST be united!
Which is code for: We will toss Alberta to the wind, kill their economy and pretend that Car Parts are next in hopes that Trump will back down!
Mr. Tax and Grab Trudeau himself sits side by side with “Captain Dougy” and proclaims EVERYTHING has to be on the table, and everyone should pretend that its an “Even Steven” plan and keep feeding mushrooms to Alberta so they don’t figure it out?
They assumed that Premier Smith and Albertans are to stupid to figure out that His Highness Trudeau and Captain Canada are secretly doing the backroom deal necessary that would see “the pain of tariffs”( which the Captain says): will be shared equally”, will not be shared at all!
Premier Smith has stuck her neck out on this one, and I for one congratulate her. She has read the tea leaves correctly, the remaining Musketeers “All for one and one for all”, are ready to do “Oil first” and then silently wait to see if Trump relents! This is not to say Captain Canada will not throw in a Fuel Injector or two into the fray, so he can continue with his roll of “pain for anyone”! Trouble is Alberta has seen this movie far too many times before and can recognize the “3 card monte that is about to unfold”.
I wonder where Captain Canada and Quebec were when the Liberals were squeezing production, or stopping pipelines? Oh, that’s right, there was no threat to the heart of Canada, it was just a leg wound as far as the East is concerned!
Its Dirty Oil as far as Legault is concerned! Not a word from Captain Canada when Quebec said NO Pipelines! Now that Captain Canada is up for re-election this summer, the credo will be “screw anyone (read the west) but don’t touch Ontario/Quebec, and Trudeau gives the wink wink, nod nod!
My suggestion is Premier Smith avoid being anywhere with the other Premiers if there is a Bus involved., Rumor has it they have been practicing “Toss the Albertan” in private meetings!
PS All the Premier is asking is for Trudeau to remove ALL restriction on Oil & Gas that he and Gibeault put on the industry be removed, then she will sit down with them, they won’t!. Where is the “Collective Canada in that”? It’s pretty easy to determine what the agenda is, “if” you think”!

At least Premier Danielle Smith HAS been invited and has been the ONLY Premier to proactively promote and repesent Alberta to President elect Donald Trump.

I could not agree more, I quote

Leaving the room, as you did, suddenly puts so much pressure on the “Captain Canada Group” to think beyond Oil and Gas that it will force them to actually take a hit, first, it will be symbolic but its better than participating in a meeting discussing a Hanging, and find out its you they want to Hang!

Mr. Jones, I know it is early, but it is time to smell the coffee and wake up! Your far fetched illusion of how you see things unfolding is so far removed from reality.
“I believe British troops will protect our borders for their own interests.” Can you provide one example where this perception has been exhibited? I suggest not, as even the “United Kingdom” is not so “united” any more.
As always there are and will be tariffs and trade issues that need to be negotiated. Thankfully Premier Smith realizes this and has been proactive, with positive results thus far.
Trade issues not only exist internationally, but within our own country (the wine exports from BC last year comes to mind).
