What future does the UCP see?

An open letter to Premier Smith:
I think it’s time you thoroughly, clearly explain your vision for Alberta. What does Alberta look like in 10 years – honestly?
Describe a typical day for the members of a multi-generational a family. Who’s caring for the pre-school kids? Do the school age children sit in classrooms where learning takes place or where chaos reigns because the class size is so big no one can control a mob that size – especially because 20 per ent of the class needs special care.
Do both parents have an income because Alberta’s diverse economy provides myriad opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship? Or are we still relying on the oil and gas industry to run Alberta? Regardless of education level, are most adult Albertans happy with the opportunities to pursue interests and skills of their choosing? Do parents lie awake at night wondering if they’ll meet this month’s financial obligations? Or are they comfortably setting aside regular amounts in savings and investments for their retirement?
Are the grandparents living a comfortable lifestyle supported by personal investments and government pension? Do they have the health care services they need to age in place? Are they free to travel or engage in hobbies and volunteer work or do they need to care for grandchildren?
Speaking of health care, I’m not seeing any improvement brought about by your efforts to date. In fact, by all reports, you took a struggling system and smashed it to pieces.
You’re very good with words. You know how to make yourself sound caring, intelligent and dedicated, but then you pass legislation that really makes me wonder what it is that you’re trying to create.
Frankly, I don’t see the future you have in mind. There is no picture formed from the actions you take or the legislation you deliver. You’re operating at time where the closest comparison for many of us is Trump’s America. We’re not on board with that.

the job of solutions – which includes a plan, vision in such a context – is that of highly paid clowns us fools defer to for leadership. we get a very poor return on that expense, although big corp and greasy insiders do ever so well year over year.
and there is story about more graft and corruption in the Danielle Smith “gong show”. MAGA Buckwheat will say this is “left wing media” reporting.

great query, and, to be fair, it is a blueprint for every govt to take to task. however, whatever planning there is typically unfolds piecemeal and reactively, as our dear leaders await for their orders from big corp, and then at times have to scramble a little (lies, propaganda, maybe pay out a company as hush hush as they can) whenever the passive public’s feathers get a wee bit ruffled.
