Self-regulation isn’t regulation, it’s the perfect rigged game

Re: Herald Friday Aug 8 front page article, “ Province Ignoring Science on Mining, says MLA”:
Thanks to MLA Rob Miyashiro for pointing out how our energy industry “Self-Regulators” are selling out the public, in exchange for six figure salaries at the top. Salaries funded by the persons they pretend to “regulate”. What could go wrong?
Self-regulation by industry-paid persons earning six-figure salaries is not regulation, but more resembles paid de-criminalization, or corruption, defined by Transparency International as “the use of public entrusted power for private gain”.
Allowing selenium to be knowingly added to our drinking water, feels like letting someone profit while defecating in our clean drinking-water source. To see so-called “regulators” turn a blind eye adds insult to our injury.
Self-regulation is the perfectly rigged game. The Alberta Energy Regulator seems to be winning the game…while doing nothing to protect the public.

Great comments Larry. So why are Albertans so ignorant that they will automatically vote for the word Conservative and deliberately ignore what these Reformers have done and are doing to us? It has us true Conservatives baffled .
Voting for Pierre Poilievre and ignoring why his own constituents kicked him out proves how stupid Albertans are, doesn’t it?
Apparently being screwed out of $1.2 trillion like we have seen in Alberta, having your farmland destroyed by abandoned oil wells, and a $6 billion economy cost by the Convoy Truckers means absolutely nothing to these mindless Albertans showing our children and grandchildren no respect for what the future will bring them with Global Warming added to the mess, thats how stupid they are, isn’t it?
Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring it isn’t very smart and neither is hurling sarcastic comments at people who are desperately trying to stop this insanity but that’s what they are doing and sadly they are mainly seniors who should be a lot smarter but aren’t.
It was Peter Lougheed was so disgusted by what he was seeing in Alberta. Some who knew him well like my parents say he died of a broken heart.
Ralph Klein and Ed Stelmach destroyed his oil royalty and corporate tax structures and deliberately put us in financial ruin with the help of ignorant Albertans believing every lie they fed them and nothing has changed they are just as stupid as they ever were.
As those of us who have been there know Alaskans and Norwegians are living the life of luxury that Albertans would have had, had they not been so stupid.
