Editor,
The recall for MLA Nathan Neudorf is looking suspiciously like bad-faith initiative. The organizer has refused to make a statement, and there are credible reports that it was undertaken by UCP insiders with possible links to Neudorf\’s office itself. Are the reports true?
I don’t know, but the MLA needs to make a substantive statement to clear up the confusion. A bad-faith enterprise, an enterprise designed to deceive and fail, is a serious ethical breach of trust under any circumstances, but especially if it involves politics.
If this is a bad-faith recall initiative, it has disenfranchised local people who wanted to exercise their democratic stake by either signing or gathering signatures under legislation passed by the current government.
If this is a fake process, they have now been denied their democratic agency by duplicitous and dishonest individuals. Nathan Neudorf publicly stated that “I’m not actively involved in my own recall.” This seems like a feeble equivocation. Were you passively involved, or were you aware it was going to happen before stepping back for plausible deniability?
Nathan Neudorf needs to answer two questions: Were you aware that someone was going to launch a spurious recall? Were any of your staff involved, and if so, how?
Nothing would make me happier than to know that the stories, reports and anecdotes circulating are nonsense, and that your office is comporting itself with integrity. Please reassure us.

He has. Just not what you want to hear, tough.
Is partisan blindness so debilitating that you actually believe that, or are you being intentionally disingenuous? Where is his “ substantive statement”? Where does he address the reports that paperwork came from Sariah Seaborn, at his constituency office? All he has said is that he has no relationship with Ryan Tanner, and isn’t involved in his recall. Did he green light Sariah to organize it? If you think he addressed it, you have an extremely low bar, lol. Laughable, really.
Is it possible the MLA Neudorf is acknowledging his failure to protect our water from coal mining, and hamstringing billions of dollars of renewable energy development … and recalling himself?
