Editor,
I will start this letter off by stating that the following is my own personal beliefs based on my observations of nearly eight decades of living on this planet. We have all read about rising violence against Jewish peoples and discrimination against other ethnic groups. Why is this happening?
My belief is a great deal of this discrimination is because the majority of people blindly follow what I like to call the “sheep principal”. Some one whom acts as a “leader”, convinces others they should mistrust, dislike or even hate a certain group of people and the sheep follow.
Perhaps I can convince at least one person how stupid this really is to participate when you carve out one group of people for your hatred. Humans as a whole, are all the same. They may look different, believe in a different religions, have different cultural backgrounds but deep down we are all the same.
If you want to judge, then please judge on an individual basis. If someone physically or mentally abuses their partner or child, as an example, by all means, call that person out. If someone commits murder or robs someone else of their property, they need to be taken to task for their bad deeds.
Do people do evil things because of their race or colour of their skin? Do they commit crimes because of the country where they were born? Do they hurt others because they are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or an Atheist?
No. It is stupid to believe that, right? Are all Russian people nasty because their president Vladimir Putin decided to invade Ukraine? Were all German people evil because they followed like sheep their charismatic grandstanding leader Hitler into WWII? No. That would be stupid to believe that is/was true.
We all have to share this planet together. Let us look at each other as fellow brothers and sisters and stop following the haters, with their personal goals of creating chaos among us. If someone has taught you that you should hate a certain group of people, try talking with those people.
You may be surprised to find that they are much more like you than you may think at present. Always ask yourself, “Does this make any sense?” “Is this the right thing to do?” and of course, “Why?”

Great observations. I would point out though, that the question “ Do they hurt others because they are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or an Atheist? I would say “yes” , actually people do target identifiable groups , Jewish, Moslem or LGBTQ communities to name three. I suspect that is part of the message . Targeting because of ethnicity etc is inherently wrong.
