Supporting Trump’s lawlessness impacts average people

By Lethbridge Herald on January 9, 2026.

Editor:

In the last seven days, the United States kidnapped a criminal foreign leader (the ends justifying the means), threatened Greenland and Venezuelan sovereignty, and ordered the Ice “Agent” into Minneapolis who then executed someone for trying to leave.

20 to 25% of Albertans support Trump to some extent.

Are you ready to get off the chaos train yet?

Donald Trump, 6 days ago:

“If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters… the United States of America will come to their rescue…. President DONALD J.TRUMP”

Do you support Iranian protesters (likeTrump) or ICE (like Trump)?

How does arming ICE agents who attack unarmed civilians fit with the 2nd amendment?

MAGAt’s have a choice.

Will you awaken from your cult driven slumber?

Enabling Trump’s lawlessness to correct whichever imaginary woke issue you have is hurting average people and benefitting Trump. That might be easy for you to forget, but for critical thinkers, you’ve etched Trump’s injustices on the permanent memories of former friends.

Your justifiable anger should be directed to the leader of the opposition. Hours after the abduction of Maduro, he (Poilievre) sent a fawning message praising the yellow haired despot.
Rather than attempting to bridge a political void , he engaged in true partisan fashion – throwing his support in true MAGA – like worship. Appealing no doubt, to the 20% of Albertan’s who also worship at the altar of Trump.

Fedup Conservative

Letting Poilievre get Re – elected has the true conservatives in my world fuming. This idiot has proven time and time again that there is nothing conservative about him. He showed the Conservatives in Ottawa no respect for what the criminal convoy truckers did to them that’s how stupid he is.

Fedup Conservative

Just like the criminal convoy truckers that Poilievre praised and bought donuts and coffee for this idiot doesn’t give a damn about what happens to the wellbeing of Canadians and fully supports what Trump is doing to Canadians, that’s how stupid he is, isn’t he?

biff

well noted! poilievre entirely undressed, and showed his true colours and allegiance. looks pretty obvious that a vote for poilievre is a vote for trump and fascism. and what is fascism in action other than the applications of laws when one likes ’em, obfuscate and negate laws that get in one’s way, and lie lie lie(bigger the better), just like goebbels and the nazi playbook.
so we might have the triple alliance of sorts composing of trump, starmer, and, if he was elected, poilievre (stomach churning).

I’ve never been on the Trump train wreck and assume some of his passengers are jumping off but too many still support his dictatorship. Canadians that continue to support Trump’s dangerous actions and verbage only give him cause to keep his 51st state bs. Our politicians also supporting Trump just add fuel to the fire.

Seems the people of Venezuela and Edmonton are quite happy the U.S. removed their dictator.

Fedup Conservative

Of course this idiot has to prove what a moron he is doesn’t he?

Sure, now that Trump has determined that they will control Venezuela for the time being , the citizens are now objecting to the Americans commitment to a democracy. The actual leader who should be chosen was Machado , but Trump , Rubio et al have determined “NO”. So much for democracy.
It’s all about the oil , nothing else.
Next in the cascading international events is Greenland, and now, will Trump keep his word** and send the military into Iran, the country now having killed upwards of 60 protesters? Possibly , but only if it suits the USA.

** His “word” meaning absolutely nothing ..

The U.S removed the Dictator in Edmonton?

biff

as you well know, the usa will simply supplant that dictator with another, the only difference being the replacement dictator will be a usa puppet.
as for the edomonton dictator, i did not hear that smith was also removed by the usa – when did that happen?

biff

concerning to hear that trump suck up, starmer, had britain take part in the seizing of the russian flagged ship in the north sea area. history repeating: instead of chamberlain appeasing hitler, we have starmer not only appeasing, but getting right on board.
and, for a rye chuckle, we have trump mouthing that the usa needs to own greenland in order to protect it from russia and china…of course, that does not protect it from the usa. btw – is not the protection of greenland a part of nato? i guess it is now entirely de facto that nato no longer exists.
