Separation is not going to make things better

Being a former bank manager, with Peter Lougheed’s energy minister, Bill Dickie, being a brother in-law of one my uncles maybe these gullible fellow seniors can explain to me how separating from Canada will make things a lot better when we know it will mean giving these fake Conservatives, Reformers, exactly what they want? A privatization of healthcare and education systems adding millions of dollars to the taxpayers costs. A privatization of healthcare will add $24,000. to a senior couple’s annual costs, and $43,000. to a young family of four. Privatization of education will add $1,000. per month, per child, to your annual costs. Replacing the RCMP will likely add hundreds of dollars to your property taxes and allowing Smith to get control of your Canada Pension Plan, just like she wants, could be a financial nightmare for all of us. There is no way she can provide 5 million with what 40 million people can and we would be fools to think she could, wouldn’t we? The point is how is separating from Canada going to make things a lot better when we are already running a province in financial ruin thanks to these Reformers and they see their only solution as making the ignorant people pay? Are you going to fall for this insanity, like many seniors already have?

While these ignorant seniors aren’t man enough to handle the truth they have no problem believing the lies these Reformers feed them. Young Albertans are telling us that they have become so fed up with the seniors in their families they have told them that they are no longer welcome at their families gatherings like Christmas and birthdays and it’s sad that it’s come to that isn’t it?
Hurling their sarcastic comments at us for not being as stupid as them and not showing any respect for our children and grandchildren’s future proves how stupid they are doesn’t it?
My wife and I are seniors and I take exception to the author throwing out the “many seniors” support separation. We know a few seniors and a vast majority including us not only reject separation but most everything the UCP has done.
So how do you explain why those of us who attend these Reform Party gatherings find that the audience is almost always 80 to 85 % seniors believing every lie these Reformers feed them.
We belong to a seniors club with 72 members and we agree with you none of them are dumb enough to support this blind stupidity. But they certainly know who we talk about.
As a lawyer friend has told us over the years. You can call 1,000 seniors stupid and the only ones you will often are the stupid one. The rest know you don’t mean them and they do know who you do mean.
Why were you offended, don’t you know some these gullible seniors? That give us all a bad name. I had a university student accuse me as being one of seniors that helped these Reformers create the financial mess we are in.
When he found out I wasn’t one of them he apologized and said that had talked to so many seniors that were blindly supporting these Reformers he began believing that all seniors felt that way.
He was like me he was really concerned about what the massive debt they were creating was going to do to their financial future. All my fellow bankers, lawyer friends, accountants, economists, oilmen and former MLAs can’t figure out how our children and grandchildren are going to get out of this mess, can you?
What really has us furious is this we don’t give a damn about you attitude that these seniors are portraying to our students giving us a bad reputation when we aren’t like them.
We agree with everything you say but why then have these Reformers been allowed to remain in power for so long and helped these Reformers cheat Albertans out of $1.2 trillion that every lawyer, accountant, economist, oilmen, bankers and former MLAs we talk to is so furious about?
Are you going to ignore the fact that every man, woman, and child in Alaska has received $52,000. In total oil wealth dividend cheques since 1982, while you got a pathetic $1,000. and not bothered to question why you were being treated like morons?
It’s not bad enough we have fight these Reformers we have to fight these seniors that are blindly supporting them, and calling us names for not being as stupid as them.
What we are seeing at these gatherings proves it, doesn’t it?
We all blame seniors as I have indicated in my comments showing the nightmare I have been through, along with the Klein family, so maybe you should wake up and get yourselves educated.
It’s not hard to understand why our children and grandchildren are in this financial mess, is it?

I’ve never been a gutless wonder and afraid of telling people who I was, hiding behind a fake name. It was a lawyer friend who created the name and suggested I use it.
So do you agree with the true facts I point out or are you another one who can’t handle the truth?
As a bank manger I have lived a nightmare watching what these Reformers kill peoples careers including family members and close friends and having the support of lawyers, accountants, economists, oilmen, fellow bankers and MLAs who were as furious as I was , while these stupid seniors continued to prove that they don’t give a damn about anyone other than themselves and refuse to believe the truth, but believe every lie they are told.
I will never forget the nurses, some of the most important people in our lives, bawling their eyes out in my office while these senior idiots told me that it was wonderful how Klein was kicking them out and saving us money, that’s how stupid they were. Then I watched some of them whining about not being able to get medical help when they needed it. On course it was never their hero Klein’s fault. It was the fault of these doctors and nurses who wanted more money and when Klein wouldn’t give it to them they left. That’s the lie they lived by.
Albertans have never recovered from the health care crisis he created and that’s why about a million Albertans don’t have a family doctor, isn’t it?
While these ignorant seniors continue to ignore what these Reformers have done to our children and grandchildren’s future. People praise me for writing my letters to the editor and pointing out the stupidity that they have brought to the table, while these seniors see nothing wrong with what they have done.
I was a card carrying Conservative and proud of it.
Yet having known Ralph Klein since we were both 17 years old and knowing what a jerk he was I knew that we were in trouble electing him.
His mother Flo told my mother that she didn’t think that he was capable of running this province properly and he certainly proved he wasn’t. When he was closing 5 hospitals and cutting 5,000 nursing positions his father Phil said to me “Al what in the hell is the matter with that son of mine, while he gives away billions in oil royalties he is forcing us to try to live without a proper health care system. This will cost some people their lives”. Phil was right it did and one was almost my father’s after he had donated around $30,000. to the Alberta Conservative Party. That’s when I began trying to warn people about what this fool was doing to us. The dozens of phone calls I received thanking me for doing it has kept me doing it especially when they come from lawyers and university professors. In 2003 a group of lawyers asked me become leader of Alberta Alliance Party to try to put a stop to Klein. I declined knowing my wife was retiring in two years and we planned to do a lot of travelling and we have.
The Alberta Alliance Party became the Wildrose Party in 2008, and Smith became their leader and one of her candidates told me that she was pleased to support Smith’s desire to privatize health care and education. She told me that her son was in a private school and it was only costing her a $1,000. per month. I asked her if she had 6 kids would she feel the same way. She said no one has any busy having more than 2. In the election she got 198 votes and the Conservative who beat her got 26,000 and Smith was defeated by Allison Redford when Albertans discovered her hidden agenda was privatization of healthcare and education and it still is.
When I told Phil about the dozens of nurses bawling their eyes out in my office he was furious with his son. Some nurses were single moms with teenage kids and they couldn’t afford to make their mortgage payments and as a bank manager I couldn’t help them and it broke my heart.
While I helped 9 doctors and dozens of nurses relocate out of this province and not one of them wanted to go, they had family here. One doctor said it best “ Why should I stay in Alberta and support my patients when my patients have refused to support me against this tyrant Ralph Klein “. Klein’s daughter Angie was encouraging everyone to vote NDP and kick her father out she was so disgusted with what he had done to us.
At the encouragement of a lawyer friend I joined 5 other conservatives in 2003 and we formed SUN, Seniors United Now, to try to put a stop to what Klein was doing to us. The idea was to travel the province to talk to seniors and point out what Klein was doing to us and what it would it would do to our children in the future.
We got the shock of our lives. These seniors called us liars, traitors, communists, leftists, left wing nuts and closet liberals. Klein was their hero and they didn’t give a damn about what he had done to us and our children’s future that’s how stupid they were. The highest power bills, property taxes, vehicle registration fees, highest vehicle insurance rates meant nothing to them. Yet it has given us the highest number of people per capita needing help from food banks in North America we are told.
Klein’s own family members were as shocked as we were. We all thought seniors would be a lot smarter than that but they aren’t and nothing has changed, these seniors are just stupid as they ever were lining up to vote to separate us from Canada without a clue as to what it will do to them and our children and supporting these Reform party clowns, Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilievre and as a lawyer friend would say “ If you don’t want be called stupid, stop acting that way”.
Young people have told us over the years that they are too busy to follow politics and we understand that. Their mistake has been following how their parents and grandparents vote and are finding that it’s been a huge mistake.
Some are now telling us they have told the seniors in their families that they are so disgusted with them they are no longer welcome at their family gatherings including Christmas and birthday party and it’s sad that their stupidity has brought it to this, isn’t it?
If you are disgusted as we are you had better start making it known because we see our greatest problem as being these mindless seniors helping these Reformers stay in power and destroying our children and grandchildren’s future, don’t you?
It was Ralph Klein who told me that to be a good Alberta premier you had to make the stupid people pay. Then he began forcing us into a lot of privatization.
I put his remarks in a letter to the editor in the Calgary Herald and I got a call from a senior in Calgary thanking me for having it printed.
He said him and his wife thought Klein was a great premier until their children wasted $500.on purchasing them an anniversary present of $250. per plate fund raising dinner. Klein’s speech was nothing but a pack of lies, and the seniors sitting around them were giving him standing ovation after standing ovation believing everyone of his lies.
After it was over he went to the washroom and when he came Klein was standing in the hallway talking to one of his MLAs. He overheard Klein telling him “I could tell these stupid seniors anything and they would believe it”.
They went home and tore up their PC Membership that they had proudly bought when Lougheed was premier and threw it in the garbage.
