We all need to be responsible right now

By Letter to the Editor on April 30, 2021.

Editor: What is wrong with Albertans? We have the highest per capita rate of COVID-19 cases in all of Canada. What is wrong with people in Lethbridge? A city of about 100,00. We have 421 active cases in the city alone which is twice as many as the whole province of Saskatchewan. Why? Who are the people spreading this virus? Don’t they care about anyone except their “own freedom” to infect us?
I received my second vaccine shot today. The clinic at the Exhibition Grounds is being even more vigilant about safety protocols but still cases are exploding here. It is time for everyone to act responsibly so that we can get this virus under control. Wear your mask (properly), social distance, avoid gatherings, wash your hands, and sanitize. I haven’t seen my grandchildren for a year-and-a-half. If I can do it, so can you.

It’s no question that the stupidity shown by Albertans is the problem. Ignoring the health care restrictions like these stupid MLAs suggested we do is a great example of why we are in this mess.
My son was tested positive last Sunday and is in isolation. His boss brought it to their office from his son, who brought it home from high school.

Mask wearing is why we’re in this mess. As I see it, the vast majority of the population wears masks. What has it done? Nothing! Only made things worse. And what about the “obedient” mask wearers who seem to think it’s perfectly fine to litter their masks everywhere. After all, they’ve done their part, right? Has anyone ever been able to keep count of all the littered masks since bylaws came into effect? How does that not provide a health hazard? Has anyone ever been caught and ticketed for improper disposal of their mask? I’ve not heard of one single case where that’s happened.
Moreover, as I observe, it’s the places with the strictest regulations where the cases are also the highest. Can you really prove to me that wearing a mask for hours on end is healthy for anyone. Humans were not made to wear masks as the norm. Sure there are islolated situations that warrant exceptions. But mask wearing for an entire day every day is simply downright unhealthy. I believe most if not all the cases we are seeing right now are pneumonias caused by prolonged, constant mask wearing. We should have known this was going to happen. We’re well into spring now. Virus season is all but over. This isn’t a virus. These are pneumonias caused by wreckless, poorly thought-out “health” measures.
And as for testing positive, a positive case is still not an illness. Only if there are symptoms is it an illness. The PCR test is a 100% unreliable test, as per its founder, who just happened to so conveniently die only a few months before this “pandemic” (August 2019 – suspicious timing??) was never meant as a diagnostic tool; only meant for research purposes. How did he die is what I would like to know! And how can it not be dangerous to have a q-tip jabbed up your nose towards your brain. What’s on that q-tip?? A microchip?

Unfortunately, it may be a matter of restrictions not being enforced. Our local town near Lethbridge is another ‘hot spot’. Right now, for a population of about 2900, there are about 45 active cases of COVID and there are always more, than the actual numbers. There have also been 5 COVID related deaths here. We still see folks not wearing masks in the post office and in local businesses. I watched Suhanna Meharchand of the national CBC, interview Dr. Darren Markland, an ICU physician in Edmonton this morning. He directly, blames this severe COVID outbreak on Jason Kenney/UCP. His twitter feed is well worth reading:

And, this blog also calls it as it is as well:
“Premier’s news conference shows little change in Alberta’s inconsistent, indecisive, confusing, unsuccessful approach to COVID-19”
http://www.albertapolitics.ca
These so-called ‘new restrictions’ are not going to be effective. Expect things to get worse before they get better. We have actually been reduced to the protocol to be followed as to who gets ICU care and the threat of not being able to get one’s driver’s licence for not paying a ‘covid-infraction’ fine. Folks have not been ‘lead’ in Alberta because of inadequate ‘leadership.’ Also, health care systems do not undergo a gradual collapse in these situations, it happens suddenly. Just hope our health care system does not collapse. That it has come to this in Alberta, beggars belief.

and first glance here sees net negs being posted to supporting replies to the good intent expressed in the letter. too incompetent to comment; just stuck in knowing what they likes, and likesing what they knows. too simple to understand the complexities of the likes of freedom.

The appropriate question would be: What is wrong with the system? Having all of those numbers the Health care provides in every single set of news about cases, and having the number of vaccines that naive Alberta people are taking, obviously: the vaccines are not working. Simple like that. Again, they are only experiments on humans. The excuse is always the same: a virus variance. NOO!! Vaccines are causing that variance as unknown side effects
