Thomas support for the trucker convoy is irresponsible

I, and I’m sure many residents of the federal riding of Lethbridge, were appalled to watch as our elected Member of Parliament unilaterally endorsed the so-called ‘Freedom Convoy.’
The convoy members were advocating for removing COVID-19 health guidelines and protocols, which were put in place to protect Canadians, and the repeal of the legal requirement for cross-border truckers to be vaccinated. In other words, allowing unvaccinated individuals to endanger others by crossing our nation’s borders despite our MP initially having condemned our government for not closing the borders fast enough. Lastly, they called for the overthrow of our democratically elected government.
This movement resulted in the flying of the swastika on Parliament Hill days after Holocaust Remembrance Day, the defacing of Terry Fox’s statue, and dancing on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Rachael Thomas has continuously spread disinformation regarding public safety. This pandemic has claimed over 70 lives and resulted in over 10,000 cases in Lethbridge alone.
While 86 per cent of Albertans over the age of 12 have received double vaccinations, she continues to favour fringe groups and propaganda rather than encouraging medically supported practices that would further protect our community.
At this crucial moment in our nation’s history, we must do all we can to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our neighbours. To do any less is irresponsible and unbecoming for the office of Member of Parliament.

Sounds like campaign stump speech from a Liberal candidate. By the way Trudeau isn’t a leader. Anyone can meet with those they agree with, leaders meet with the ones they don’t agree with

I would suggest that you just want to see Trudeau being abused; all the signs weren’t eloquent enough? The weird, foaming at the mouth hatred for this man actually reflects more on you.
I would say that Trudeau really should at least have made mention of the fact in his address yesterdayt that not only are these stoked twits out for blood, HIS specifically, they also want to shut down the government.
I’m pretty sure that most people in the country think that this misguided quest for anarchy all for the sake of ever more personal “freedumb” should rightly backfire by REMOVING some of it.

Go Thomas. Devon uses the information that suits him. The truckers who were our heroes for hauling the freight fearlessly during a scamdemic have now been made 2nd class citizens. Suddenly they are unsuitable to carry on their work. Health care professionals are treated the same way,good for nearly 2 years and then kicked to the curb for failing to “comply” !Why the push for vaccine that’s proven not to work . We don’t need all the government overreach. If you want vaccine I support you. If my neighbor wants no vaccine I support him also. With out fear of him even.If you want to wear a mask or two go for it, I support you. If I don’t wear a mask , at least tolerate me. Convoy is for freedom ,not fear. Every Canadian should be standing up for freedom to choose. Freedom to eat in restaurant. Freedom to go to a hockey rink ,visit an elderly loved one,travel,attend a concert, attend a meeting,etc.
Well, one thing these kooks have done is drain empty the meaning of ‘freedom’.

Where is the so-called Freedom for the Downtown Ottawa Citizen? 3 days of non stop honking & yelling. Citizens can’t think, study, work, sleep, get out for groceries and Rx, or have items delivered, Now some of those idiot truckers are defecating in yards. Do you not think many businesses have closed. “I can’t breathe – the fumes from the trucks are too strong”.
Where is the freedom for Canadians? To travel ,to eat in a restaurant,watch a game attend the rodeo?Time for freedom

Sigh. Have you not noticed that this is our first pandemic, and so we’re learning as we go, as are the medical professionals? And that the virus has evolved, as they do? And who do you choose to believe? OBVIOUSLY the people who are trained, who are educated, and who have expertise and knowledge that you DO NOT HAVE?
If you’re truly “old school” how do you not recall that up until quite recently most people trusted medical science and recognized that education and experience meant something? Something has changed and surely you see that it is NOT an improvement by any measure.
I would say the rise of extremism in the political right wing is the through line. It’s embodied in that truck convoy stupidly asserting itself as we speak, demanding “freedom” while completely overlooking the fact that any country that even ALLOWS such an intrusive action, not to mention the disproportionate and irrational hatred for the head of government, and utter ignorance about how government even WORKS in the first place, but still thinking to oust them just on the strength of THATvernment emblazoned on their weaponized rigs ns comely elected out of blanket respect for the right to “protest” is AS FREE as it gets. Arguably, far too much so. Given and inch, these yahoos have taken a mile.

I have not seen other “pandemics” here. However the “experts “ concern me.It’s not a conspiracy theory to say “follow the money”. I was patient when vaxes came out ,then became concerned with adverse effects were reported. Some vaccines were supposedly “better” than others.
Some supposedly better for different demographics. Thought inspiring also,for me anyways, was chemical companies getting immunity from prosecution. I do remember thalodamide and OxyContin which were fully tested . . . .
Then the bribery started and threats and restrictions for 2nd class people. Health care “heroes”, at one point anyway ,were kicked to the curb for not “ complying. Truck drivers the same . Fearless heroes of the pandemic on January 15 became a threat to everyone’s health.???

All you’re interested in conserving is the status quo, things staying as they were i.e., so the reason you have no business in governance is because the only constant in life is change.

i am sure the vaxes will work better when they roll out the covid vax patch. finally, a steady dose of the stuff, rather than another shot every few months. like the vax originals, it should up the placebo effect markedly.
5.6 million covid deaths, out of 290 million cases, out of a world pop of 8 billion. hardly an encouraging set of numbers for the non-human life forms on the planet to cheer about.
…as the federal Conservative Party of Canada is self-imploding. And, be aware that there is more than a hint of supporters of the PPC (People’s Party of Canada – the Maxime Bernier bunch) who may be/are, involved in this illegal blockade action. The Conservative Party of Canada is very fearful of this ilk of their base switching their support to the PPC, a very disturbing neo-liberal Trumpian style of politics.
