People on ‘freedom’ convoy need to make change legally

I am deeply ashamed and disappointed with Canadians right now, from the top leaders of our country to the lowliest. Holding fellow Canadians hostage, breaking laws and desecrating historical monuments are beneath most Canadians imaginations. On the news, I see flags representing Donald Trump, Nazi Germany, and the U.S. Confederate flag beside signs for freedom.
If you don’t believe Canada is one of the most free countries in the world, I invite you to move to any number of countries where their residents would die to have the freedom we take for granted.
I wish the people on the freedom bandwagon would vote or get involved with legally making changes, or at least recognize how lucky they are to live in Canada where they won’t be lost in some prison for the next 30 years.

The thing is, words matter and if you don’t use them properly you create confusion. It’s a grammatical thing.

As of 2:00 pm on Feb. 14, reports of 11 people arrested at the border. According to the RCMP they were in possession of various firearms, a cache of ammunition, and body armour of the sort issued to police. There are only two groups at the border: The protesters, who are in violation of Alberta legislation, and the police. So what group do you think was going to be targeted?
Since the gophers aren’t out yet, my guess to your brain teazer is that they were going to shoot police officers.
I wonder what our freedom fighters here think of that? Killing people because you don’t like wearing masks.

For the Coutts/milk River blockade, I say it is time to bring in ‘Watchdog’, ‘Bluebell’, Taurus ARV’s, some of the old Styrs with tow cables, coming in with a show of force with low level fly overs by CF-18’s before Hercs perform AGL drops of troops and Griffin/Chinooks bring in other equipment and secure area for Watchdog/Bluebell to enter area.
Police will then make arrests and throw the insurgents into buses and show them some good old hospitality in an arena for a few weeks to let them think about their freedom and takng foreign financing to hold Canadians hostage!
But our spineless politicians that only worry about the next election and not serving there electorate would never send in the military, so these terrorists witll continue and the healthcare staff will become overburdened once more after not being able to recover from the stress and loss of sleep and a life, that they have endured for the last 2 years. All because 10% of the population have decided not to wait another month but force removal of restrictions.
The high costs of policing in just our local blockades must be over $150,000 per day and the costs to the communities they had to leave to bolster ranks underdetermined, but many that need police there will now have to wait for hours longer and these law enforcement members will see higher burn out rates trying to cover all the accidents/incidents themselves.
The impact is much more than many understand!
When the next wave hits the hospitals from these terrorists creating all the issues, let us remember who caused it! US manipulation, poor political leadership and these radical insurgents!
I should make an important revision to the number of insurgents holding Canada hostate:
I stated 10% of the population, but it is only 0.06 % of the Canadian population are involved across Canada and the number of truckers involved are less the 10% of Canadian truckers.
Many of these people were deviants and didn’t obey many of our laws before COVID. Many of the trucks have illegal tint, illegal exhausts with no mufflers, illegal lights, no display of registered owner on doors or tare weights/max weights displayed as required by law. Being a renegade on the back 40 on your own land is fine, but when you bring it onto public highways and streets that crosses the land! I would be thankful police have been as patient as they have for now and go home, point made!

Freedom is not a wild card. Freedom comes with responsibilities. By telling the reader that if you left Canada you would be arrested and detained, you are announcing that you have either committed an illegal act and are, therefore, not permitted to enter another country or you have made the choice not to receive a vaccine and/or wear a mask. Whatever you are referring to, you had/have a choice. You made the choice. You have responsibilities based on the choice you freely made.
freedom has some basic tenets, such as people own their body in a free society. mandating that a person has to take something into their body against their will, or govt imposes consequences is antithetical to freedom. the responsibility under such egregious intrusion is to take a stand and remind govt where the line is drawn.

I for one am thankful we’ve moved on from the days of the Industrial revolution where it was common to work between 14 – 16 hours a day, 6 days a week because factory owners were not willing to leave their factories idle.
