Parents of abused baby don’t deserve sympathy if found guilty

Re: Couple arrested and charged after infant sexually assaulted in southern Alberta.

I don’t know if some people are just so angry or they are completely insane and beyond any redemption whether its by way of medical treatment or some other kind of healing therapy.

That being said, a defenceless baby girl is fighting for her life in hospital after enduring the most horrible abuse that anyone could subject upon an infant and even if she makes a full recovery, she’ll have a lifetime of trauma that will affect her well into her adulthood.

Regardless of whatever issues, be it intergeneration violence or mental health issues and/or even substance abuse that the child’s parents might have been dealing with, no human being on earth – whether it’s an adult or even a child – ever deserves such horrific abuse.

God might have mercy on some people but as a human being I have none to show these parents if they are indeed found guilty after their fair trial which they’ll receive.

I don’t think that I’d shed a single tear if they are sentenced to spend the rest of their lives in prison while their baby girl receives the decades of therapy that she’ll need to heal from all her injuries, both physical and mental.

it is not in the public interest to withhold the names of people such as these, as how are we to protect vulnerable children from these types down the road. it would be better to change the name of the victim if anything. as for the couple – i can only imagine their fate in some other place or some other time.
