An angel who can weld saved two stranded newcomers to the city

By Lethbridge Herald on February 8, 2023.

Editor:

I never knew that angels know how to weld.

On Thursday night my husband and I were in our box truck towing our camping trailer when we had a catastrophic failure.

The frame of the box truck broke – the tail hitch and, therefore our trailer, were dragging along the road.

A few minutes later a man stopped to ask us if we needed help. Having just returned to Canada from visiting the U.S., our phones didn’t work so we were thankful someone stopped so we could figure out what to do and who to call.

Well, it ends up the man who stopped, named Don, is a welder and builds trailers. He says he not only can help but can fix our truck! He called his son, who shows up with straps to hold the back end together, they then towed our trailer back to their shop while we followed in the truck.

By the early afternoon the next day we were fixed and back on the road. We owe Don and the guys at Mustang Trailers a huge thank you. They went above and beyond to save two strangers stranded on the side of the road. We have just moved to Lethbridge and Don is the first person we met. Needless to say, he will always have a special place in my heart.

If this is what people are like in Lethbridge, I’m so happy to have made this city our home.

Welcome to Lethbridge Amy and family. As a lifer here Amy, I can tell you there is a lot of good people here and as you found out angels too.
Once you get the hang of the routes you can go anywhere in this little city in as little as fifteen minutes or less. Lets hear the bigger center’s boast about that. I have raised three children here and now three grandchildren and can tell you its a safe place to raise your off-spring!
Good luck to you and yours!

great story – things like this beg to be shared! it is important that we are made aware of the good things that happen, and not just the tough stuff that the news keeps pounding. cheers to the writer, and most especially to don and his son, and to mustang trailers.

I know Don a little bit and I’m not the least bit surprised by this story.
