Danielle Smith’s UCP isn’t conservative, it’s just populist

Danielle Smith is a populist; that isn’t news. Trump, Poilievre and even to an extent,Doug Ford, practice populism, but none practices populism as vigorously as Danielle Smith.
Smith’s ferocity towards populism would make most dedicated, high libido 19-year-olds blush. It’s just unfortunate that Smith’s only influence comes from backseat bobbleheads, Rob Anderson or Jeff Rath.
Whether anti-trans or further aggrandizing recent citizen initiated referendum legislation, Danielle Smith’s legislative record is like listening to a drunk teenager screaming into a karaoke microphone while the machine skips between Milli Vanilli and Yoko Ono.
Danielle Smith is a dedicated, purposeful agent of chaos. The more bad legislation, the more headlines, the more court challenges, the more satisfied Smith is. The Smith UCP is even attempting to monopolize the word, “conservative.” I forecast future UCP legislation;
“As the all knowing and all telling dictator of Alberta, I decree the word “progressive” to be the sole property of the United Conservative Party of Alberta.”

Look for Peter Guthrie to lay claim to these titles because the term “progressive conservative” seems to be the intellectual property of Danielle Smith and the UCP.
Whatever Guthrie and the genuine conservative people of Alberta wish to call themselves, the irony that Danielle Smith believes her party in any way represents “progressives” or “conservatives” is not lost on me.
Wherever you are, whoever you support in Alberta, know this, the UCP is now the party of the tinfoil hat wearing blockaders. The UCP brand, now strapped to the Oceangate collapsing sea anchor.
Smith’s malleable ideological identity has been unable to resist the impulse to follow those few people who bellow loudest. Did you ever ask yourself what would Alberta look like if Alison Redford and Tucker Carslon were co-Premiers?
Or what if Joe Rogan was locked in a cage with 67 magpies and they ran the province?
This today, is Alberta.
I’m a proud Albertan, a proud Canadian. I’m thoroughly embarrassed by Danielle Smith and her extreme right wing separatists.
Maybe you like the type of attention brought on Alberta today, myself, I lived through the National Energy Program in Alberta: 14 percent unemployment, 22 percent interest rates. Premier Peter Lougheed never mentioned separation, not once. Is my generation of Albertans just tougher than today’s?
If you believe Alberta needs a reset with Ottawa and eastern Canada in general but also understand Alberta has no future as Project 51st State, then consider placing your support outside the ever shrinking, tiny tinfoil tent that is the UCțmP.

Well said Blaine these Reformers are a farce and the true conservatives in our Lougheed world can certainly understand it. Too bad these senior idiots who continue to support her aren’t smart enough to do so, isn’t it?
What has the true conservatives in my world so furious is the lack of respect they show our children and grandchildren’s for massive debts they must face in the future thanks to these idiots and they don’t care, do they?
Once again we see people shot down by manics with Assault Rifles while these Reform Party fools Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilievre hurl sarcastic comments at the Liberals for wanting to take them out of the hands of people with bad intentions. Following their American Republican Party pals stupidity with their right for anyone to bare arms that’s how stupid they are.
For 67 years I was a hunter in Alberta and during those years many of my hunting buddies were lawyers, police officers and even a Crown Prosecutor. Not one of us was dumb enough to believe the Reform Party lies that Trudeau was trying to destroy our sport of hunting, yet some senior hunters we knew certainly did, but then they believed every lie these Reformers feed them and they still do, that’s how stupid they are isn’t it?
Blaine- Is the antidote extreme left populism? NDP appeals to the opposite marginal groups that the UCP does. So does one populist group make the other populist group the antidote?
You raised the trans issue so, Is a man wearing a tutu in a little girls washroom the answer to the Not Withstanding Clause or is there some sort of center that has to be achieved in Alberta/Canadian Politics? Its a simple question that you will “skirt” (pun intended).
So your descriptors associated with the UCP can be applied to the NDP but you dictate doctrine as if it does not….which really makes you a Lefty in waiting.
How do you govern in a Province made up of radical rights? Do you install radical lefts?

To prove how stupid you are Alaskans have $80 billion in their savings account and every man, woman and child has received $52,000. In total annual oil dividend cheques since 1982 while we got a pathetic $1,000. $30 billion in our savings account with a $89 billion debt, a soon to be $500. Billion oil well cleanup mess oilmen tell us and at least a $20 billion deficit to pay for road and bridge repairs, and build 60 new schools we desperately need.
Norway has $1.4 Trillion in their savings account, they pay nothing for healthcare or education and in fact Students are paid $1,000. Per month to go to university, no tuition fees.
To prove how foolish you are Alberta produces twice as much oil as Alaska and Norway combined yet we are the ones in financial ruin because of what these Reformers have done to us, with your help, aren’t we?
The former conservative MLAs pointed out that this is the biggest reason why we are in the financial mess we are in thanks to these Reformers and maybe these fools who are blindly supporting them had been read it, don’t you think?

I was a card carrying conservative member for 31 years. A brother in-law voluntarily flew the government plane for Lougheed and Getty and Lougheed’s energy minister Bill Dickie was a brother in-law of one of my uncles. Dad donated around $30,000.to the Alberta Conservative Party over the years. All our family, relatives and friends were proud conservative supporters ,now we have these senior idiots who are so stupid they don’t know what a true conservative is, hurling their sarcastic comments at us for not being as stupid as them and showing no concern for the financial disaster they have helped these Reformers create for our children and grandchildren’s future that’s how stupid they are, aren’t they?
If Peter Lougheed were still around, he wouldn’t be impressed with the UCP and Danielle Smith. When Peter Lougheed was still alive, he warned Albertans about Danielle Smith, because he knew she wasn’t trustworthy.

What have I missed?
All this on top of the $1.2 trillion we know they have helped the rich steal by destroying Lougheed’s oil royalties and corporate tax structures and the American oilmen working in Alberta that I was involved with called us the dumbest people on the planet for allowing it to happen, and you can certainly see why, can’t you?
